Components of the spideREX K8 system

RXZ and RXL panels

The core of the spideREX K8 system is composed by the thermal-insulating panels in Expanded Sintered Polystyrene (EPS) produced by Rexpol. All panels are self-extinguishing in “E” Euroclass, specific for the thermal insulation of external walls, and the RXL panels are certified EPD. RXZ and RXL panels are conceived with three horizontal incisions, that provide additional grip, helping the plaster layer remain solidly attached. The panels are also provided with a special three-dimensional net made of reinforced polypropylene, with the function of sustaining the plaster layer. Specific areas of the net are suitable for the process of mechanical fastening. The EPS panels have been designed and engineered by Rexpol specifically for the spideREX K8 system and the performances of all the different versions of the panels have been certified.

RXZ PANELS FOR BASEBOARDS

Expanded Sintered Polystyrene (EPS), self-extinguishing, light blues panels in “E” Euroclass, certified “ETICS” ,with a thermal conductivity of λD = 0.033 W/mK, with a low grade of water absorption, specific for the external walls baseboard in thermal insulation systems.

RXL WHITE PANELS FOR WALLS

Expanded Sintered Polystyrene (EPS), self-extinguishing panels in “E” Euroclass, certified “ETICS”, with a thermal conductivity of λD = 0.035 W/mK, specific for the thermal insulation of external walls.

RXL DARK PANELS FOR WALLS

Expanded Sintered Polystyrene (EPS), self-extinguishing panels with adiathermic additives in “E” Euroclass, certified “ETICS”, with a thermal conductivity of λD = 0.030 W/mK, specific for the thermal insulation of external walls.

The three- dimensional RXR net

The special RXR net is composed by links designed to reinforce the plaster layer so preventing it from sliding away during the spraying phase; raised pads are uniformly distributed on the net surface to guarantee the planarity and calibration of the plaster layer. Specific areas of the net are suitable for the correct placement of the screw fixings and, on two consecutive sides of the three-dimensional net, can be found some special overlapping sections, in order to apply the net correctly thus guaranteeing structural continuity. On demand, it’s possible to apply the three-dimensional RXR net on the surface of other insulating materials too.

 

The fastening systems for the panels

THE RXT SCREW FIXINGS

The RXT screw fixings, developed and engineered expressly for spideREX K8 system, are used for the application to the walls of the RXZ and RXL panels. They have to be inserted into the holes drilled in specific areas of the RXR net. The fastening system, with asymmetrical teeth in the expansion, ensures the successful application on concrete (A), solid bricks (B), hollow bricks (C), lightweight concrete blocks (D) and autoclaved aerated concrete blocks (E), minimizing the thermal bridge.

 

THE ZINC-COATED RXV SCREWS

The zinc-coated  RXV screws are used to fix RXZ and RXL panels to wooden structures. The screws must be inserted into the holes drilled in specific areas of the RXR net. The RXV screws are made of galvanized steel and have a countersunk head, the Torx impression and a partial thread. They are equipped with a plastic washer to minimize the thermal bridge.

 

THE RXC STITCHING SCREWS

The RXC stitching screws are used to fasten the RXR net to the RXZ and RXL panels near the corners of the building, the perforations and in all those areas that may require additional fixing.

 

THE RXS FOAM

Fixing system based on polyurethane foam, one-component, thixotropic, with high adhesive power and low expansion, fire resistance class “B2” and a thermal conductivity of  λD = 0.035 W/mK.

The RXM and RXM3 plasters

Gli intonaci RXM e RXM3 sono stati studiati in laboratori dedicati per ottenere le miscele più performanti per il sistema cappotto sicuro spideREX K8. Le principali caratteristiche degli intonaci RXM e RXM3 sono l’alta resistenza meccanica e l’alto potere adesivo, uniti a un’eccezionale durata nel tempo e a un’ottima lavorabilità.

THE RXM PLASTER

Plaster for the first layer, has to be applied with mechanized equipment. Dry premix composed by selected aggregate, hydraulic binder, hydrated lime, water-repellent agent, synthetic fibers, perlite, specific additives.

Field of use: colored thick coatings with acrylic/acryl-siloxane finishes.

STRUCTURAL PLASTER RXM3

Structural plaster, to be applied with mechanized equipment. Dry premix composed by selected aggregate, hydraulic binder, hydrated lime, synthetic fibers and specific additives that guarantee high mechanical performances; it provides a laying surface with good tear resistance values (> 1N/mm2).

Field of use: ceramic/stone finishes and ventilated walls.
